There is something quietly gorgeous about handling clay. Its so much more than just making pots or bowls - its a slow race of creativity, mindfulness, and self-expression. My pottery workshops offer this experience to anyone willing to have a go. They invite you to slow down, focus, and create something uniquely yours.
The joy of creative pottery classes
Creative pottery classes are more than just lessons. They are a way to switch off and refocus - unlocking your inner artist. When you sit at the wheel or mould clay by hand, you enter a world of creative possibilities. The process is tactile and immersive, engaging your senses in a way that few other activities do.
In my workshops, you learn to really experience the clay, to feel its texture and weight. You discover how to balance pressure and understand the clay. The wheel becomes your friend and helps you coax the clay into shape.
What I love most is how my students love to experiment. You might start with a simple cup but end up with a classy vase or a quirky plate. The freedom to explore shapes and reform your pot as the clay transforms really encourages your creative spirit to emerge.

What is a pottery workshop?
A pottery workshop is a hands-on session where you learn the basics of working with clay, guided by me but encouraged to have a go after just one demo. My workshops are designed for beginners, providing a supportive environment to learn and develop your skills.
Workshops usually last a two and a half hours, allowing you to practice and refine your work. I include demonstrations, individual guidance, and plenty of time to experiment. The social aspect is a bonus too - sharing the creative space with students is a real joy for me..
If you want to try your hand at pottery, joining pottery workshops is a wonderful way to start. I will provide all the materials and tools you need, so you can focus on the joy of creating.

Practical tips for getting the most from your pottery workshop
If you’re thinking about booking up one of my pottery workshops, here are some tips to help you make the most of your time:
Be open to learning - Pottery is a pretty easy skill to learn and every step is rewarding. Embrace mistakes as part of the process.
Wear comfortable clothes - You might get a little messy, so dress for comfort and ease of movement.
Ask questions - Don’t hesitate to ask me for advice or clarification.
Practice regularly - Do come back again. I am happy to add more sessions and teach you about glazing too if thats of interest.
Bring your own ideas - Think about what you want to create. Inspiration can come from nature, everyday objects, or your own imagination.
Enjoy the process - Focus on the joy of making rather than perfection.
